System Error - A vulnerability in the system
A production by the MARALAM Theatre
A transit area at a European airport. A warning from the intelligence services that an unknown woman is planning an attack sets off the alarm. Amira and Anna find themselves in a locked interrogation room. With no further information, they are detained and questioned by security officers.
Two women, travelling for very different reasons and from very different worlds, are stuck. Their journey comes to a standstill. There is a great deal of uncertainty, and mutual mistrust pervades the room. How do they cope with the uncertainty of what will happen next?
Uncertainty, fear, frustration, hunger and thirst, tiredness, anger, curiosity and a fighting spirit intermingle in a fluid, unstructured passage of time. Minutes turn into hours. Glances become questions. Silence takes on weight.
What is my future? Where do I belong? Who am I, really? What are my values regarding humanity and solidarity? Even the security guard is overcome by doubt.
How will this situation end?
The story is inspired by a real-life incident.
A multilingual production developed collectively
Duration: 1 hour. No specific language skills required.
An exciting and moving story for young and old.
Performance rights:
© Ammouri, Braschler, Hirsekorn, Mahfouz
